About Tegla Peace Foundation

The charity is in honour of Tegla Loroupe, a renowed international athlete who vowed to use her track and field achievements, skills and friends to promote peaceful co existences and socio economic development amongst the poor and marginalised pastorolists in the gretaer horn and lake region of Africa.

The main purpose of the foundation is to support and further initiatives that promote conflict resolution, peace building and poverty reduction initiatives that enhance livelihoods and resilience of poor people affected by conflicts and civil strife.
